Suitcase full of Barbies...
06/16/2008

I photographed this at a hillbilly flea market.
They reminded me of something.

The history of my love life.
All my past loves. Discarded. Damaged.

Too many years spent reckless with the hearts of others. They lay there like the contents of a can of Pringles; all white, slightly warped, some already broken.

The Guilt is always with me. Did I leave them this way? Or would the ups and downs of Life have done this to them without my help?

I anguish, vowing to never add another body to that pile – Love’s funeral pyre.

Is my Love today less dysfunctional, more mature? Lessons learned on the broken backs of a hundred Barbies?

Ok, so I have no children. But I had my first calf! Born Monday, a bull. He may be bi-racial…

Commencement Speech
05/30/2008

I went to my nephews’ Commencement last night.
The first one I’d ever been to.

I’d never been to mine because I hadn’t commenced.
It was inspiring. How to make a difference. Giving back. Setting goals. They gave advice about going out into the real world.
The real world. They shouldn’t prepare you to enter it – they should tell you how to avoid it.

I imagined them showing a film clip – a trailer for an upcoming new horror film release…

Fade in: camera pans down a row of house in a suburb. It closes in thru the window of a home.
We see a soccer mom trying to use a Swiffer.
It pans to the husband, a toilet plunger in one hand, a soggy mass of used tampons in the other, and a look of zombie-like resignation on his face.
Camera pans to a Juno –looking, teenage girl, as she turns to father and whines, “I thought they’d just flush down, OK”?!
A Goldendoodle canine leaps into frame grabbing the tampon mass from the dad’s hand and runs down the hall as a sniggering male “tween” Flip-videos the tableau.

Camera pulls back out from the window to show the front of the house as the electric garage door suddenly opens. The rubber weatherstripping on the bottom is rotting and the rubber hangs in pieces that look like little black teeth, making the opening door look like an evil mouth.

Fade to black and movie title appears:

The next airing of my One Hour Special....
05/17/2008

My One Hour Special, “Irked & Miffed” will next air on June 3rd at 10 pm. On Comedy Central.

Speaking of miffed – my girlfriend got that way when I told her “If you walked any slower you’d leave a mucous trail behind you”.

I’m taking a month or so off now to write, mess with my new calves,
mess with the pregnant cows, and try to put together a Tonight Show set that they keep harping on me about.

Maybe the mucous line will work…...

My appearance between GirlsGoneWild pornclips....
04/29/2008

To all of you that watched my One hour Special, Thank You! I cannot possibly answer all the emails I got afterwards, but I really appreciate you taking time to sift thru the miasma of entertainment choices and stumbling onto mine.

A few comments: If you watch the pre-midnight airing, any foul language or sexual references were censored via an annoying bleep.
After 12 a.m., they air the unedited, uncensored version, because people who don’t want to hear the word “hard”, “going down”, and “dick” all fall asleep as if by pixie dust at midnight.

I was disappointed because, a: I found them distracting, and b: the hypocrisy of censoring a 50 year old man who’s delivering anecdotes peppered with a few curse words, yet the Network had no problem running 4 minute commercials of barely-legal teen girls french kissing and pulling their tops up to show their perky tits.

These “Girls Gone Wild” commercials were aired every commercial break, ad nauseum, yet I was bleeped for saying “hard”, “going down”, and “dick”.

All the same words that immediately come to mind when watching “Girls Gone Wild” commercials.
I personally think the “Girls Gone Wild” franchise is the most offensive thing shown on television.

Oh well, it’ll give me material for my “failure of Feminism” segment in my next show…..
